Why Do They Call You Platypus???
By Platypus | February 10, 2007Okay, first of all I do not look like a duck. I do not lay eggs. and I am not dangerous!!! When I first got into the adult business, I had no idea what was in store for me. I just kept my eyes wide open and tried to absorb everything like a sponge…So one night a couple D.J.’s from the club I worked at invited me to join them for a night of drinking at the competing titty bar down the street. When we got there it was around midnight and the place was busy. The D.J. was irate I guess he had been there since noon and he had enough. The music went dead and the D.J. started this rant and he kept referring to himself in third person he said "They have no love for Bonzai, Banzai has been here for ever and no one cares, no love for Bonzai" Now in the midst of this my friend D.J. Dave looked at me dead serious and said " This is fucking bullshit!!!" "That D.J. Sucks and he gets a cool nickname, we need nicknames, You look like a Platypus, I’m gonna call you that from now on" Well Dave kept his promise and everytime he referred to me, he would use that silly nickname and then everyone else started to follow suit. Honestly It didn’t seem that wierd to me at the time because my boss’s name was Rattlehead, there was this customer named Cowboy and one of the manager’s was called Woody. So in a nutshell my name basically came from a night of drinking with the guy who was training me. Being a D.J. is kinda like belonging to a frat. I got a nickname, I’ve been hazed, hell I had my head shaved on stage, been in a dress, had to get inside a dunk tank, I even carried a torch while wearing a half shirt, speedos, and a pair of goggles at the Dr. Johnny Porn Games. I can think of worse nicknames, I can think of better nicknames, but I wouldn’t trade mine in for anything.
